VIEW REPORT (2587K)
This report presents results of a study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy, to help resolve a large difference (4,350 cubic feet per second) between two previous estimates of the 100-year peak flow for the Big Lost River at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory. The report presents regression models that were used to estimate the magnitude of the 100-year peak flow. The models compare annual peak flows between successive upstream and downstream gaging stations for the same flow event and peak-flow attenuation values as a function of upstream peak flows.
