Contour Data

Target used in aerial photography to create contour maps of the Boise River, Ada County, Idaho.

Two-foot contour maps of the Boise River and adjacent floodplain were developed by Towill, Inc. In 1998, Towill, Inc. was selected to perform photogrammetric mapping according to Federal Acquisition Regulations and to FEMA's "Guidelines and Specifications for Study Contractors (1995)." In preparation for the aerial photography, Towill established horizontal and vertical control for the entire project area. Aerial photographs were taken on December 17, 1998. Topographic maps were created at a scale of 1" = 200' with a contour interval of 2 feet. These maps were delivered in .dxf and .dwg formats (AutoCAD). Map accuracies met or exceeded specifications published in the U.S. Department of Transportation's "Reference Guide Outline," and FEMA's "Guidelines and Specifications for Study Contractors (1995)."
