Explanation of Field Headings and Abbreviations


BASIN_NAME - Name of primary stream or river in subbasin.
LATDD - Latitude in decimal degrees.
LONGDD - Longitude in decimal degrees.
TIDBIT_SER - Serial number of temperature logger deployed at site.
BASIN - Subbasin number assigned by Lipscomb (1998).
RETRIEVED - Y-logger retrieved, N-logger not retrieved.
GRANDAVE - Grand average temperature. Average of all temperature measurements.
GRANDMIN - Grand minimum temperature. Lowest of all temperature measurements.
MDMT - Maximum daily maximum temperature. Highest temperature measured.
MDAT - Maximum daily average temperature. Highest of all daily mean temperatures.
MDNT - Maximum daily minimum temperature. Highest of all daily minimum temperatures.
MWAT - Maximum weekly average temperature. Highest value of the 7-day moving average of the daily average temperature.
MWMT - Maximum weekly maximum temperature. Highest value of the 7-day moving average of the daily maximum temperature.
MAXDIURN - Maximum diurnal variation.
HRS13 - Maximum number of hours temperature exceeded 13 degrees C.
HRS22 - Maximum number of hours temperature exceeded 22 degress C.
CON13 - Maximum number of consecutive hours temperature exceeded 13 degrees C.
CON22 - Maximum number of consecutive hours temperature exceeded 22 degrees C.
DGRDAYS - Degree days. Sum of all daily average temperatures.
USED - Y - data used to develop statistical model, N - data not used.
DATAVAIL - Y - data may be downloaded, N - data not available for this site.
Sub-Basins - Drainage basins within Salmon and Clearwater River Basins. Each monitoring site represents one sub-basin.
COMMENT - Other information as necessary.
