Evaluating Borehole Deviation to Ensure Accureate Water Level Measurements at the INL

We recently published the results of borehole deviation testing we conducted on 177 aquifer monitoring wells at the Idaho National Laboratory. This type of testing is important to ensure that wells are drilled straight. If deep wells are not drilled straight, the resulting water-level measurements taken from those well could be inaccurate. This, in turn, would create inaccuracies in our groundwater-flow models.
