Idaho Water Science Center

We've installed three temporary gages on Boise River bridges in cities that are prone to flooding: Eagle, Star, Parma

Measurements from these gages will help identify high water caused by backed up debris.

Boise River Flooding

With the Boise River above flood stage, the USGS is responding with reliable information for public safety. Our new webcam lets you view river conditions at the Glenwood Bridge. Funding for this webcam was provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Our New Center Director

Michael E. LewisMichael E. Lewis joined our center in late April. Michael comes to Idaho from the USGS Colorado Water Science Center in Denver.

"Michael Lewis has decades of experience with the USGS and with all aspects of our water programs, having literally worked his way from an entry level student appointment to the top position in one of our most important water science centers," said USGS Director Marcia McNutt.
