Email and Text Alerts

WaterAlert

Click a WaterAlert site to get data for active surface water, groundwater, and precipitation sites. Then subscribe to automatic alerts for thresholds you define.

WaterNow

Query a USGS site identification number and WaterNow will send site's current conditions to your email or cell phone.

Surface Water

StreamStats

Click to go to the StreamStats Website

Find streamflow statistics, drainage-basin characteristics, and other information for user-selected sites on streams with StreamStats.

StreamStats for Idaho was developed in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, the Idaho Transportation Department, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, and the Bureau of Reclamation.

WaterWatch

Use WaterWatch tools to compare current, 7-day, 14-day, 28-day, and monthly average streamflow with historical streamflow for the same period.

Hydromet—Reservoir Storage

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation provides current and historical reservoir levels, boat ramp elevations, and links to area recreational sites.

Surface-Water Data for Idaho

NWIS Web's surface-water data includes automated and manual measurements for lake levels, streamflow, and gage height. Select from current data; historical data; daily summaries; daily, monthly, and annual statistics; and peak-flow data.

Interact with the data by plotting multiple sites on one graph. Even sign up for automatic alerts for thresholds you select.

Groundwater

Groundwater Data for Idaho

NWIS Web's groundwater data includes site descriptions, well depth, and depth-to-water measurements. Select from current data; historical data; daily summaries; daily, monthly, and annual statistics; and manual field measurements.

Interact with the data by plotting multiple sites on one graph. Even sign up for automatic alerts for thresholds you select.

Groundwater Watch

Click to go to the Groundwater Watch Web site
Use Groundwater Watch to access groundwater statistics that are grouped for a variety of objectives.

Water Quality

Water-Quality Data for Idaho

NWIS Web allows you to access current and historical records related to the chemical, physical, and biological properties of water, sediment and tissue samples from Idaho and across the Nation.

WaterQualityWatch

Use the WaterQualityWatch options to view map depictions of real-time water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and discharge.

Drought and Floods

WaterWatch: Drought

Click to go to the Drought Watch Website

Use WaterWatch's tools to compare current, 7-day, 14-day, 28-day below-normal streamflow conditions to historical conditions for the same period.

Also available: duration hydrographs for individual sites and state-wide conditions, map of record low 7-day streamflow, regional map comparisons for dates you select, 7-day flow condition data in table format, and a cumulative streamflow hydrograph builder for sites and dates you select.

WaterWatch: Flood

A map depiction of current flood and high-flow conditions. Hover over each site symbol to see individual flood statistics. Or use the other WaterWatch tools to build custom tables and charts related to historical flood data.

NWS River Forecast

National Weather Service combines our streamflow measurements with their weather forecasts to develop river forecasts.

Aquatic Biology

BioData

Click to go to the BioData Website

The BioData Web site gives access to bioassessment data collected by the USGS from streams across the nation.

Fish On-Line

Click to go to the Fish On-line Website

"Fish On"-Line was the management and delivery system for aquatic biological monitoring data that preceded BioData.

Field/Lab Samples

Click to go to the NWIS Website

NWIS Web's water-quality data includes records for field and laboratory analyses of water samples, biological tissue, sediments, or other environmental samples.

Geospatial

Earth Resources Observation and Science Center provides science and imagery to better understand our Earth.

Earthquake Hazards Program

Get real-time and historical earthquake information.

Geolog Archive

Our INL Project Office maintains geophysical log files for selected boreholes in southeast Idaho.

Water Use

Water Use in the United States

Every five years, the USGS compiles county-level water-use data in its national water-use data system.

Water-Use Data for Idaho

NWIS Web's water-use data are reported by source, category, and area type. The water-use data presented here are the current best estimates, and may have been revised from previous publications.
